Kitten season is a term used by animal shelters for a period that occurs when cats tend to give birth in bigger numbers, flooding animal shelters and rescue groups across the nation with a huge amount of homeless litters.
The San Diego Humane Society’s Kitten Nursery is especially well equipped for kitten season, taking in thousands of orphaned kittens every year. These neonatal kittens require 24-hour care, meaning a lot of work is involved in taking care of these cuties, but more importantly, lots of love too!
That really looks like the greatest place to work at…ever. What’s more important is if it weren’t for these kind-hearted people, most of these kittens wouldn’t survive.
As a reminder, please be a responsible pet owner and spay or neuter your fur babies and, of course, if you’re looking to add an additional, four-legged family member, adopt don’t shop!
