In the world of modern moviemaking, you might be surprised to learn that there are still a few professionals who prefer to achieve their special effects the old-fashioned way — whether it’s with elaborate makeup or cool electronics.

This is what keeps Gustav Hoegen employed as an artist specializing in animatronics.

While Hoegen has worked on high profile films, some of his creepiest creations come from him just messing around with technology. For example, take the video below. Hoegen, for some reason, decided to mock up an animatronic baby skeleton. Then he made it dance to some horribly creepy music.

So this is what the robot uprising will look like…

He’s clearly very talented, but this is just horrifying. I think I’ll be seeing that dancing robot baby in my nightmares tonight.
