Anyone who’s lucky enough to have a pool in their backyard knows that there’s nothing better than taking a dip on a balmy summer day — and when it’s not summertime, it’s pretty nice to dream about opening that bad boy up after a dreary winter.
But pools come with a few setbacks that are far worse than having to skim the top every once in a while. If you’ve ever found an unfortunate bird or frog that didn’t fare well after an accidental dip, you know that it’s a guilt-ridden experience. Last year, a Brazilian man found a bird in his pool, and once he scooped it out, he realized that the poor thing needed some serious help.
At first, things weren’t looking good. The bird wasn’t breathing, and it seemed like all hope was lost.
Alessandro Sambatti — the man who vowed to save the poor creature — took everything he knew about CPR and downsized it.
After a few minutes, the little fighter made a miraculous comeback. Sambatti even whipped out the hairdryer to heat the birdie up!
Check out the entire process in the video below:
A man revives a birdIn Londrina, a Brazilian town in northern ParanĂ¡, Alessandro Sambatti found a Great Kiskadee Flycatcher lying at the bottom of his swimming pool. The man rushed to the little bird back to the surface, then he tried to revive him by making him a heart massage and “mouth-to-beak”. After a few moments, the animal began to breathe again and regained consciousness gradually. Alessandro then used a hairdryer to dry her feathers before putting the little bird in the yard of his house to enable him to resume its flight. This dude is a real hero <3

While this footage may be a year old, it’s always nice to remind ourselves to do the best we can for everyone and everything around us. Even when a situation seems hopeless, a little proactivity and positivity can go a long way.
