Having your credit card declined is an embarrassing experience. Personally, it’s not something I’d wish on my worst enemy. That being said, there’s an unwritten code of conduct when it comes to handling situations like that. The best way to go about it is to endure the situation with poise and grace. Let’s face it — it’s usually your own fault.
A lesson on how not to handle your credit card being declined comes to us this week from Oklahoma.
Meet 62-year-old John Parsley, seen here in his Woods County Jail mugshot.
Parsley had been trying to check into the Alva Comfort Inn, but his credit card was repeatedly declined. Rather than handling the incident with a little dignity, Parsley decided to ram his truck into the hotel lobby.
Luckily, no one was injured in the process.
However, he did manage to cause over $100,000 of damage to the hotel lobby.
Security cameras captured this footage of the horrifying ordeal.

Luckily for the rest of the world, Parsley is being held on $1,000,000 bail. He’s facing two felony counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, along with one count of malicious injury to property valued at more than $1,000.
