What This Guy Is Doing With His Free Time This Christmas Is Insanely Creepy

When it comes to American holiday traditions, nothing is creepier than “Elf on the Shelf.” In case you’re not familiar with the tradition, it comes from a book by the same name.

Essentially, the story is that Santa sends an elf to keep an eye on your children so that the elf can tell him whether they’ve been naughty or nice. Much like government surveillance practices, these dolls are downright creepy.

See what I mean?

What could possibly be more terrifying than a voyeuristic elf watching your children?

How about a real-life Elf on the Shelf? Yeah, this is definitely scarier.

Despite his creepy attire, the man who posted the ad, Jesse Brower, says he just did it as a joke. The 28-year-old actually forgot about the listing until it hit Reddit earlier this week. That’s when his inbox exploded with people trying to book him for their parties. He has since taken it down.

I think I’ll stick to the toy version.

Well, that’s an unexpected business opportunity. At least this means that Brower will have some extra spending money for the holidays. It’s a shame that the method has to be so creepy.
