This Creepy Castle In North Carolina Used To Be The Site Of Satanic Rituals

When you think of diabolical Satanists congregating to work on their evil plans, you probably don’t picture them doing it in a gorgeous 100-year-old castle in the foothills of North Carolina. But if the rumors are true, this is the perfect place for Satanists to congregate.

Welcome to the Overlook Mansion in Asheville, North Carolina.

The Overlook Mansion, also known as Seely’s Castle, was built between 1912 and 1914. The original owner of the property was a man by the name of Fred Loring Seely.

Seely lived in the castle with his family until his death in 1942. After that, his wife sold the property. Over the following decades, the mansion was alternatively occupied by families, a college, and a Christian ministry.

The place could be described as opulent. The interior features high ceilings, stained-glass windows, secret passageways, and much more.

In other words, it’s the perfect place for creepy things to happen.

But where did the rumors of Satanic activity come from?

No one is quite sure when the rumors began, but a few locals point to a time in the late 1970s when the Overlook Christian Ministry was the castle’s main tenant. It’s said that this particular ministry was a big believer in speaking in tongues. Some believe that unholy rituals may have been performed by the ministry’s most extreme practitioners.

The property is now owned by an unnamed religious group that has banned access to outside visitors.

This, of course, just makes the whole thing even freakier.

Well, that’s slightly disturbing. Nothing is creepier than having a Satanic cult living next door. So bizarre.
