When you hear the word “jellyfish,” your first instinct might be to run. One certainly doesn’t usually think of home decor, but a company is dedicated to turning the stinging animals into art instead of, “Arrgh, my foot!”
After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Jellyfish Art has commenced production of an LED-lit tank specifically made for jellyfish that turns the famous cnidaria into a sort of organic lava lamp.
They may have claimed your foot when you went body surfing that one time…
But now you can keep them just like a goldfish — except way cooler.
If you’re worried that the little guys are cramped, don’t be! Turns out, jellyfish don’t have a central nervous system and are probably unaware they aren’t still in the ocean.
Because jellyfish are 90% water, they can’t survive in a normal aquarium with its powerful filters. Jellyfish Art has created its own design with a more gentle filter.
The tanks are small and relatively easy to set up. As soon as you’re ready, Jellyfish Art will send you the sea creatures right to your door!
How cool would it be to have a couple of jellyfish just chilling at your desk?
Or maybe in your living room — talk about a conversation starter!
If you’re still not convinced, just know that mediocre rapper Vanilla Ice is counted as one of Jellyfish Art’s biggest fans!

Another cool thing about jellyfish is that unlike regular fish, they have no eyes. Those unblinking eyes of goldfish always made me feel kind of guilty about winning them at the carnival. But softies like me can take comfort that these guys have no globular organs and therefore no soul! Thanks, Jellyfish Art!
