This Boy’s Pet Is His Best Friend, But It Definitely Isn’t A Dog

As a kid, there are few things more thrilling than becoming best friends with a wriggly puppy. Nothing helps children get over scraped knees and tummy aches quite like wet noses and wagging tails, and you’d be hard pressed to find a toddler who doesn’t melt at the sight of a new four-legged friend.

Unless that toddler is Tyler Young, that is. His best friend happens to have two legs, but he’s most definitely not a human. Tyler’s closest pal is actually of the quacking variety.

Here’s how most people hang out with ducks.

But Tyler is not most people. He and his lifelong friend, Bee, both like to stand on the same side of the fence.

According to Tyler’s mom, this little one has always had a thing for ducks…which is good, since the Young family has 11 of them.

But Bee has always been the boy’s favorite real-life rubber ducky.

Most human brains cannot handle this level of cuteness. It’s a scientific fact.

Bee has always been by Tyler’s side…and behind his ear.

And he always facilitates Tyler’s undying urge to cause trouble at home.

“Don’t look at me, lady! I saw nothing. I heard nothing. I did nothing.”

Like any other child, Tyler prefers the box over the toy inside of it, and Bee tends to feel the same way.

And in case you thought that this little guy was missing out on all of the best parts of having a dog, fear not. Bee has made it his mission to be a good makeshift pup. He even begs for dinner scraps…for hours on end, if necessary.

Anyone who has a dog is familiar with Bee’s unwavering focus when it comes to prying food from human hands.

And you know what it feels like to have an animal buddy that always wants to butt in.

Even though Bee is Tyler’s favorite, their whole squad still loves to hang around by the fire.

But at the end of the day, these two are thick as adorable thieves.

As you can see, friends come in all shapes and sizes. Something tells me that Tyler Young will never regret having a duck instead of a dog, and this planet is so much cuter because of it. For regular updates on all the antics that ensue, be sure to follow Tyler and Bee on Facebook!
